  • Sheets are installed with the UV-coated side facing outward, toward the sun
  • Sheets are cleaned and maintained according to our installation guidelines
  • Sheets are not exposed to chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaning tools

Accessories Warranty

All accessories — including profiles, connectors, screws, washers, and tapes — carry a manufacturer warranty against defects in material and workmanship.

What Is Not Covered

  • Damage caused by improper handling, installation, or storage
  • Scratches or surface damage from abrasive tools or cleaning products
  • Damage resulting from exposure to incompatible chemicals or solvents
  • Normal weathering, minor color shift, or light transmission changes within acceptable industry tolerances

Frequently Asked Questions

📦 Products & Materials

What are polycarbonate sheets made of?

Polycarbonate sheets are made from 100% premium raw polycarbonate material — a high-performance thermoplastic known for its exceptional impact resistance, optical clarity, and long-term durability. All our sheets are manufactured under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified production processes.

What is the difference between solid and hollow multi-wall sheets?

Solid sheets are a single layer — offering maximum clarity, rigidity, and impact resistance. They are ideal for glazing, signage, and partitions. Multi-wall sheets, including twin-wall and triple-wall, have hollow internal channels that trap air, providing thermal insulation. They are the preferred choice for greenhouses, pergolas, and roofing projects.

What is the difference between twin-wall, triple-wall, and four-wall sheets?

The number of walls refers to how many parallel layers are inside the sheet. More walls means better thermal insulation, lower K-value, and higher rigidity, but slightly reduced light transmission. Twin-wall is the most popular for residential use; triple and four-wall are preferred for commercial or cold-climate applications where energy efficiency is a priority.

Do your sheets come with UV protection?

Yes. All our polycarbonate sheets feature a co-extruded UV protective coating on the exterior face. This is a permanent layer built into the sheet during manufacturing — not a surface spray or film. It protects against yellowing and UV degradation and is backed by our 10-year limited warranty.

What colors are available?

Clear is available across all product lines. Colored options — including Blue, Bronze, Green, Orange, and Opal — are available for twin-wall and multi-wall sheets. Contact us to confirm current color and thickness availability for your specific order.

Do you sell polycarbonate in roll format?

Yes. Solid polycarbonate sheets are available in roll format in 2mm, 3mm, and 4mm thicknesses — 4ft wide and 100ft per roll. Rolls are ideal for curved installations, continuous runs, and custom cut-to-length applications.

🔧 Installation

Which side of the sheet faces the sun?

Always install with the UV-coated side facing outward toward the sun. The UV-coated face is identified by the printed protective film — install with the printed side facing up.

Can polycarbonate sheets be bent on site?

Yes. All our sheets are cold-bendable on site without heat. The minimum bending radius depends on thickness — as a rule, the radius must be at least 175× the sheet thickness. For example: 4mm sheet → 700mm minimum radius; 8mm sheet → 1,400mm minimum radius. Always bend hollow sheets with the channels running parallel to the curve.

How do I cut polycarbonate sheets?

Use a fine-tooth circular saw, jigsaw, or utility knife. Always support the sheet close to the cut line. For hollow sheets, remove any swarf from the channels after cutting.

How do I fasten polycarbonate sheets?

Use our hex head self-drilling screws with EPDM sealing washers. Drill holes 50% larger than the screw diameter to allow for thermal expansion. Always position fasteners at least 50mm from sheet edges. Never over-tighten — compress the EPDM washer just enough to seal.

Do I need special profiles and accessories?

Yes — for a complete, weatherproof installation you will need:

  • U-profile edge caps to seal open sheet ends
  • H-profile or Snap Cap connectors to join sheets side by side
  • Breathable aluminum tape for upper ridge sheet edges
  • Solid aluminum tape for lower eave sheet edges
  • Hex head screws with EPDM washers for fastening

All accessories are available from Poly Greenya.

When should I remove the protective film?

Remove approximately 5cm of film from all edges immediately before installing. Remove all remaining film immediately after installation is complete. Never leave the protective film exposed to sunlight — it will bond to the sheet surface and become very difficult to remove.

Can sheets be walked on during installation?

No. Never walk on polycarbonate sheets at any time during or after installation.

Can polycarbonate sheets handle snow loads?

Yes — polycarbonate sheets are suitable for snow load conditions. However, the actual load capacity depends on your supporting structure design, rafter spacing, and span. Consult a structural professional for load calculations specific to your project.

❄️ Snow Load Performance

Can polycarbonate sheets handle snow load?

Yes. Polycarbonate sheets are highly impact-resistant and suitable for outdoor applications in Canadian weather. Snow load performance depends on sheet type, thickness, support spacing, installation method, and the structure underneath.

Which polycarbonate sheet is better for snow areas?

Multiwall polycarbonate sheets are commonly used for roofing, greenhouses, canopies, and covered outdoor areas because they offer strength, insulation, and lighter weight compared to solid sheets.

What affects snow load capacity?

The main factors are sheet thickness, panel structure, rafter spacing, slope angle, fastening system, and whether the installation allows snow to slide off instead of accumulating.

🌡️ Performance & Durability

What temperature range can polycarbonate sheets handle?

All our polycarbonate sheets perform reliably between −40°C and +120°C — well suited for Atlantic Canada's full range of seasonal temperatures.

How strong are polycarbonate sheets compared to glass?

Polycarbonate is up to 200× more impact resistant than glass, at roughly half the weight. It will not shatter — making it significantly safer for overhead and exposed applications.

Will polycarbonate sheets yellow over time?

Not under normal conditions. The co-extruded UV coating prevents yellowing and UV degradation. Our sheets carry a 10-year limited warranty against yellowing, provided the UV coating is kept intact during handling and installation.

How do I clean polycarbonate sheets?

Rinse with lukewarm water below 60°C and mild neutral detergent using a soft cloth or sponge. Never use abrasive tools, rough cloths, brushes, or solvent-based cleaners. Avoid contact with alkalis, acids, and aromatic solvents.
